AI And Parents As Teachers

Dear Suze Q. I’m helping my granddaughter home-teach her 6 and 8 years old because we live in a rural area. Our state curriculum is flimsy on the whole AI subject. This reminds me of the early computer days when their evolvement was faster than teaching could keep up.

Dear Grandma, Supplementing the school curriculum and becoming proficient in AI will put your whole family ahead of the learning curve. Remember in 1983, wehn Apple gave 9K computers to its home state of California schools, and within a decade home computers were common? Same explosion with an AI world is upon us. Write your own lessons plans, emphasizing critical thinking and logic. Teach how to detect AI-generated and fake content, how AI is used well and misused. Examine companies that detect AI, such as JustDone, Turnitin, and others that are basically unreliable because AI technology evolution is so much faster than the policing of false positives and false information. -SQ
