Smoker

Dear Suze Q. I’m an ex-smoker and still have cravings. My wife supports me but she's never smoked so doesn’t really understand. Forever, we’ve had Sunday night dinner at my in-laws who smoke inside and their clothing and furniture reek. I can’t go right now. I’ve suggested dinner at our house but the logistics with the rest of the family make it a non-starter. My father-in-law says to man up.

Dear Ex-smoker, You have manned up by facing your addiction and conviction to beat that beast. Don’t go until you’re absolutely ready. Send your wife to represent you, or support her if she stand with you and doesn’t go to Sunday dinners either. Prime directive: give your battle every fighting advantage and surround yourself with those who support you, eliminate those that don’t. You know the rules for success, follow them. -SQ
