Rifleman's Creed

Dear Suze Q. My husband insists I learn to use a gun. We live in a rural, battleground state. ICE reports are daily and scare the bejesus out of everyone.

Dear Purple State, When holding a gun, you need to completely understand that it can save your life or take another's. After the 1942 Pearl Harbor attack that launched American into joining WWII, Marine Corps Major General Rupertus wrote the Rifleman's Creed for the purpose that his soldiers needed to understand "that the only weapon which stands between them and Death is the rifle... they must understand that their rifle is their life..."  True then, true now. A gun's use is to kill or stop from being killed. A heavy burden, consider wisely. -SQ
