Dragon Breath

Dear Suze Q. I have dragon breath in the morning but my wife says it’s rank during the day too. I brush after I wake up and before bed which I’ve been told is enough. What would be the best mouthwash?

Dear Dragon, Check with your DDS and/or MD for any infections. The mouth and skin pores expel odors from eating foods like onions, garlic, and alcohol. The American Dental Association recommends brushing teeth 2x/day for at least 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste, and floss to rid those little nuggets stuck between teeth that produce stinky bacteria. Always, always brush your entire tongue, and if you can stand the tickle, softly brush the roof of your mouth. Reviews are mixed about using mouthwash (some side effects are dry mouth, increase canker sores, burning sensation). -SQ
