The Bat-Signal Is Always Lit

Dear Suze Q. I’m so overwhelmed I can’t sleep well and never seem to catch my breath. I’ve been divorced for years and recently started dating a lot. And loving it! Meeting different men, back to dancing and social events. My two teens drive and live mostly with me. At 50, I still need to work for a few more years. How to maximize my fun?

Dear “Darling,” (as he’s called by Catwoman), The challenge with frolicking whenever you want while keeping all your balls in the air, is to keep one eye on burn-out. Make "delegate" and “no, sorry” your new best friends. Hire a housekeeper, expect the teens to laundry their own clothes, cook for themselves simple dishes, and occasionally grocery shop for the family (without you). Become a whiz at quick but healthy meals (leftovers, large supply of staples, stock your freezer). Pick a few passions to indulge, and say no to others. Everyday make physical and mental relaxation a must, including checking in with yourself to add another fun thing for the future and cross out two yucky ones. -SQ
