Dear Suze, my partner’s daughter gave him a book, “Dad, I Want to Hear Your Story,” but he’s hesitant to share with me because it was about his kids and first wife. I think he’s silly -we all have treasures and regrets. Should I ask again or let it go?
Dearie, Are you stuck on why he won’t share? Surely, you’ve heard some of his tales before. Ask once more what’s the secret, then drop it. Could be a million benign reasons: sacred book for his daughter and him only; he remembers stories clearer without your help; this project doesn’t involve you. Might spark you to write your own legacy. -SQ
