Scared and Lied To

Dear Suze Q. I believed our President when he promised to Make America Great Again. I trusted that he’d help my family have more food and pay bills. Yesterday, he announced Americans would have “some pain” after his tariffs with Mexico. $10 a carton of eggs! This wasn’t the promise. Last week, ICE arrested, without warrants, 500+ “who looked like illegals” at the Seafood Depot in N.J.  What the hell does that mean? Military planes costing about $5,000 per person/per trip, are gearing up to detain 30,000 at Guantanamo Bay prison for another $13 million per prisoner/per year! He’s destroying common Americans and families. When does this nightmare end? Average Joe

Dear Average, I can’t tell you when or how the pain ends, but you’re not alone in feeling it. Live one day at a time. Live each as fully as if it were your last. Concentrate of what is in your power to control and change. Maybe the Serenity Prayer’s part about “accept the things I cannot change” works for you. If not substitute, “I will attempt to change what I cannot accept.” American votes and voices put Trump in charge, the same can remove him. -SQ
