Dear Suz, My marriage has been over for years but we still live together for some unspoken convenience. There’s no sex, we have separate bedrooms and lives. She accused me recently of always asking about her day, and her thoughts. I realize it’s true, but she does the same to me. I’m thinking of joining a dating app. Should I tell her?
Dear Roommate, Are you sure you don’t want to date your wife and recapture the love that may be dormant, not dead? It sounds like you’re still friends and care about each other, but neither of you took the next step to 1) divorced and move on = hard work, or 2) get whatever help you need to move past the trouble in your marriage and perhaps live together happily = much harder work. Yes, if you choose to date others, tell her, because friends don’t blindside friends. -SQ
