Dear Suze Q. Will you support tomorrow’s 24-hour economic blackout? Will your followers, American or otherwise, do the same? The grass-root protest, spearheaded by The People’s Union USA, is “dedicated to economic resistance, government accountability, and corporate reform.” Lofty, vague goals that start with getting Big Corps attention tomorrow! Specifically targeted are companies that kowtowed to Trump’s dictum to eliminate federal DEI programs (diversity, equity, and inclusion): Amazon, Target, Walmart, Google, Disney, Booking.com, McDonalds, Best Buy. Dear Power, Let us all remember the fundamental principle that is the foundation of democratic nations, “Government OF the people, BY the people, FOR the people,” -Abraham Lincoln. ALL people, not the privileged, the few, the rich and white male, or the 1%. ALL are created equal says the US Constitution; ALL are equal in the sight of God says Acts; ALL are equal in the eyes of law. So, logic follows that diversity, equality, and inclusion are also fundamental foundations for freedom and progress, and protest against injustice is a fundamental and powerful right. 🇺🇸 -SQ
