Suze Q. Babe, you missed the boat about the guy that paid for a private school and wanted his son taught the right way. Maybe he was a bit mouthy about the sissy kid being taught a lesson in his day, but his point was sound. He’s got a right to expect the school he pays for to raise his kid like a man.
Nope. When a child is accepted to a school, the family agrees to the school rules or be banned. Parents don’t make school rules and raising a child is called parenting. Only a parent has the right to raise a son to be a man -and if you do it right, he will be successful and you will be rewarded. But if you do it wrong, the severe consequences include loss of custody/jail/worse. The goal of compulsory education established around 1900 was to educate all citizens so they can contribute to the success of a nation, instill ethical values, social communication abilities of teens, and help assimilate immigrants. In essence, school gives you the skills to be a successful team player instead of a dick, babe. -SQ
