Dear Suz, I’ve dated a great guy for 6 months who was busy winding down his job. Now he’s retired and wants to spend 24/7 together. We’re practically joined at the hip. He wants me to go back East to meet his kids over the holidays, which leave my family here a bit miffed. I don’t think we’ve moving too fast, I plan to spend my remaining 30 years with him. I just can’t do it all.
Dearie. Breathe. You sound like you’re running a marathon rather than a relaxed stroll to the end of life with the one you love. About the holidays, maybe join him for a few days but not the whole time? He needs retirement activities to entertain him, not you. You need to enhance each other’s lives, not become them. -SQ
