Dear S.Q. I’m a classy women in my 60s and just starting to date again. I have no problem with sex on the first date but my girlfriends, even those who were wild in college, say to go slow. Are they right?
Dear Classy, There’s no right or wrong, but there’s lots of if ➡️ then. IF you have a pattern of sex on the first date and it always ends in disaster, THEN don’t repeat. IF sex weeds out lousy lovers, THEN continue. IF you’re sure he’s not an axe murderer, carries a disease, or some lay you’ll regret forever after, THEN proceed with your eyes wide open, but have your keys handy if you need a quick getaway. The real issue is what do you want after the first date -friend, travel partner only, marriage for life? Best to agree on the long term relationship goals before you meet, so sex is a bonus. -SQ
