Dear Suze Q. I took my marriage vows seriously, but my marriage stinks and gets worse each year despite trying everything. I want out.
Dearie, With good intentions, we fall into promises that should be broken. Married for life is a romantic ideal, but "renewal ceremonies" and premarital agreements are popular for a reason. You buy your first house with plans to live there forever, but you often don't. Even injection weight loss drugs say you'll be on them for life -but who really does? If your forever wedding promise was well-intended, but circumstances changed, then you gave it your best. Now divorce. But, don't be a squirrel and say things will be permanent when you don't plan to honor your word. That just makes you a liar. -SQ
