Dear SQ, I’m worried I’ll lose the girl I love if I tell her about my 2 failed marriages, recovering alcoholism, pre-diabetes. We’re in our late 60s and this may be my last shot living happily ever after.
Dearie, Love is fabulous, but it will disappear without truth, trust, and taking responsibility for your own life. Trusting her now with the truth of your life’s baggage MAY risk losing her. But, when she finds out later, she’ll PROBABLY be royally pissed off with your lies and your baggage. Be rock-solid and tell her everything. If she leaves knowing the truth, she wasn’t the one for you anyway. -SQ
