Dear Suze, During Christmas Eve dinner, my partner of 6 months took calls from 3 female “friends,” that talked to his mom and sisters too. I had no idea about one who was a college sweetheart 10 years ago and was in town visiting her parents. I want to ask more but don’t want to seem jealous.
Dearie, Yes, ask; don’t interrogate. Get their history, just like any story. What was their relationship then and now; when did they last see each other and are they planning to again; how often do they talk or text; what topics do they talk about. Then the two biggies -1) what does she know about you and your relationship with him, and 2) should you be worried about his feelings for her? Keep your eye on this issue. It could be nothing or a bombshell. -SQ
