Dear S.Q. Me, again, -Not Stupid, you named me. I had the calm talk with my guy about whether we were a couple or not. He agreed that we should be and apologized for assuming otherwise. I said I wanted to marry in the future and have kids (I'm in my late, late, late 30s). He laughed and said sure about marriage but he probably didn't want kids. -Not Stupid, but frustrated
Dear Frustrated, Take him at his wishy-washy words. "Probably" not wanting kids sounds like "no," but he could be talked into it. Don't let your biological clock override your logic of how squishy this guy is (as in, does he have a backbone). If you have children with him, will every day be a hassle to communicate, and then end in divorce? Think it through, talk to him again calmly, then act -stay, leave, or date others while deciding about him. -SQ
