Dear Suze Q. I had a first date with a women I’d met on-line. We both liked sports so I thought drinks at a sports bar would be great and she agreed. The bartender is a friend and the locals are regulars like me. At half-time, she said she was leaving -it wasn’t working for her. I thought we were having a great time. What happened? Should I call her or give up?
Dear Clueless, What’s a first date all about? It’s a tease, an appetizer to whet your appetite for more of the other person. To savor them with all your senses and see if there’s chemistry. Your date should have been the center of your attention, not treated as another drinking buddy and excuse to get rowdy. If you agree you screwed up, consider apologizing.
