Dear Suze Q. I’ve dated a guy for a few years, and he thinks we have a great relationship seeing each other every few days. He’s never owned a house or even an animal but loves my dog. We’re in our 50s and love to travel, eat out, and play couples cards. He loves being around my grown kids and their families, but I know very little of his history other than he never married, and the two women he lived with in his past broke his heart. I guess I can live with this a few more years until somebody better comes along.
Dear Waiting. Your guy has commitment and responsibility problems -no house, wife, children, pets… We’ve all had two bad relationships so this doesn’t justify his history of no lasting intimate relationships. Why wait for somebody better? When you find enough strength to possibly lose him, tell him you want to date him and others. The worst that can happen is you’re forced to look now for that someone that can make you happier. -SQ
