Dear Suz, I've just left a 20 year marriage and I'm ready to sow my wild oats. I didn't buy the red Corvette yet, but those younger hotties have my full attention. My buds smirk, but my long-time women friends basically shun me. What gives?
Dear What Gives? The seams of your calm life have burst apart and your dormant impulses and fantasies are exploding. Generally, its called a "midlife crisis" because of the abrupt upheaval that happens when a re-evaluation of life occurs somewhere in your 40s-60s. It's pretty common, and needn't be a crisis if you keep your "humanness" intact. (Don't be a dick; do follow the "Golden Rule"). Many question life's purpose or direction, or your own mortality. This crazy time may last (for 2 years or so) until you figure out who you are now and align yourself with new goals for your new future. -SQ
