Dear Readers. Let's continue to round two of yesterday's Fair Fighting techniques where I suggested stick to only (1) one topic per argument, gently spoken without profanities or condescending innuendos, that (2) include at least one possible solution. So here's how you set the stage for that conversation. Don't spring it unexpectedly. State that you would like to talk about ___, (be exact) and when would be a good time? "Never, my love," is not an acceptable answer. (3) Nail down the time to something fairly specific, (like tonight). Without a firm time, you'll nag or get anxious because this is another thing to argue about. (4) Take a brief time-out if you need to cool off during "the talk," but before walking away, commit to when you're going to resume. If a second time-out is needed, you're done for the night. Reschedule to when you have both had time to think this through, and can offer some creative solutions. -SQ
