Dear Suze Q. I had a great first date after a week of flirting, saying what’s on my mind with no filters. For a night, she made me forget I’m an old geezer, as my kids say. This little filly and I would have enjoyed lots of trouble had we hooked up in our 30s. At 70, my liver stopped my hard-drinking ways, and my lower body needs help for hard-loving. Not sure why, but I’m afraid of this relationship.
Dear Geezer, Fear of failure, the unknown, being hurt, or rejected are all common fears. Trick is don’t think too deeply about what can go wrong; just analyze it thoroughly if it does so you don’t repeat the same mistakes in the future. Ride the thrill! They call it the honeymoon phase for a reason. -SQ
