Dear Parent, Indeed, these are worrisome times to raise youngsters in the U.S. Finland's negatives: Extremely cold, dark, high cost of living, high taxes, more depression and alcohol addiction. Positives: High-quality public healthcare, English is commonly spoken, salaries are high, crime is low, great public transportation, and known as one of the world’s most honest governments.
Finland ranks as one of the highest literacy rates in the world, 99%, the top of the European Media Literacy Index, where it just added AI literacy to its national curriculum. ✔ YouTube, CBS TEXAS on Jan. 6, 2026 of Finland teaching preschoolers how to spot AI from fakes, as part of “critical thinking,” (Trump was part of this lesson). Finland was accepted into NATO in 2023, and shares a 830 mile border with Russia, a country known for lies, propaganda, and fake information. -SQ
