Vulturing?

Dear Suze Q. I’ve dated a guy for two years but after I mentioned living together a few months ago, he communicates less and makes excuses to not get together. I’ve sent cute notes and a few gifts that no longer make him light up. My friends say to move on, and not tolerate being ignored, but I wonder if I should try harder. 

Dear Ignored, Put yourself in his shoes. Is he trying to break up? Your acts of desperation haven’t brought his love back so stop hovering over a dying relationship (the new term is vulturing; the old term is time to call it quits). Save your dignity for someone who appreciates you. -SQ
