Dear Suze Q. My girlfriend’s developed a thing for Singapore Slings. She wants to bring the ingredients to a pot-luck New Year’s party. Besides the expense which will blow our budget, someone will have to bartender unless we bring a punch bowl and when it’s empty, that’s it. Thoughts?
Dear Barkeep, I think you need to check with the host(ess). Yes, pricey. Yes, someone may have to tend the bar. But your biggest liability will be the consequences if someone overindulges on your drink, (drunk driving, promiscuous or aggressive behavior). Bars that serve alcohol carry liability insurance for a reason. Maybe stick to eggnog. -SQ
