Dear Suze Q. I have a long-distance relationship until my partner moves here next year. When together, sex is great or off-kilter. I can’t figure it out and my partner shrugs that it will work itself out. I don’t want to waste a year with phone sex to find out something's seriously wrong. We’re in our 60s, so there’s no time to waste.
Dear 60, At this age, lots of things can go haywire, and many are interrelated like sex/depression, bad knees/bad sex. Sex therapists ARE a real thing, with mandatory (post)graduate credentials and licensing -they are the pros if sex is the primary problem. Check with the licensing boards for American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists and others. If compatibility/personality/temperament are the primary problems, seek psychological help. -SQ
