Cuffing Season Is Upon Us

Dear Suze Q. My daughter tells me it’s “cuffing season.” She wants to bring a guy for Thanksgiving, but warned the family not to get attached, she doubts he’s a keeper. He’s just someone to enjoy during the cold seasons. Is this a thing? How can youth be so callus?

Dear Mom, “Cuffing,” -is real, as in handcuffing, (as in attached to another). It's a short-term romantic relationship through the cold months (October-March) that includes a heart-throb during the holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa, Valentine’s Day). Callus? Maybe not, if both people agree it’s more fun to get hot with someone you like during this cold season. then you have a built-in companion during these dark, lonely, months at expected holiday social events, or just because. -SQ
