Dear Suze Q. My 4-year-old snuck in bed between myself and my lover. Luckily, I awoke and took her to her bed and scooted my lover out. She mistakenly asked this morning where Daddy was -we’ve been divorced for months. I told her he left for work and that we weren't getting back together; he just stayed because he was tired. I feel horrible that I lied. What now?
Dear Caught, The ball's not in your court, so wait. Her dad may question why you were sleeping with someone in front of your daughter-a bonehead move to be sure. You owe him nothing except that your kid is always safe and you have the right to date. If he threatens to tattle to the Judge that you've scarred her for life and that you're an unfit mother, also remember, this is why you're not married. The Court won't go apeshit, unless she saw nudity, or you're really Mommy Dearest. Keep your cool, and answers short and repetitive. EX: No, Sweetie, Dad and I will never get back together.
