Misogyny, Disguised Abuse

Dear Suze Q. I left an abusive marriage and I think I’m in another. He hasn’t hit me but thinks I’m the 1950s housewife and he's my king and savior. He adores his mother, so I thought his early love for me meant we were equal partners.

Dear Duped, Misogyny is dislike/contempt/hatred of women. It's ingrained prejudice, a form of sexism, where women are lower on the social scale than dogshit and man is at the top. Misogynists think women are genetic simpletons, inferior on all levels, and are to be treated like dogs, which can include abuse if they stray from being loyal. It can be a dangerous, deadly relationship. Leave? Tell someone other than his mother. (If she's loyal to him, it might make it worse for you). -SQ
