Be On-Time. Don’t Be Late, Don’t Be Early

Dear Suz, In the range of disorganized ⬅️➡️ to organized, I’m at the top 25%. I am not anal, rigid, or tightly wound. And I will not change because I like myself and these habits and attributes I’ve developed. I run a large corp, love my family and friend’s events, and my alone time. I debated about writing you because my pet peeve seems insignificant even to me. It torques me off when people aren’t on-time. It’s not hard to do. If you’re early, wait until the appointed time. If you’re late, call and alert them (I give one free late pass).

Dear Torqued, Punctuality is one of the simplest forms of self-discipline that profoundly affects everyone. It’s a sign that you’re reliable, professional, respectful. Good things flow from this solid foundation. But "torqued" may be an over-reaction to a common human fallacy. I doubt this is the only thing that twists you in knots, so be honest and rethink how to deal effectively without anger/resentment build up. -SQ
