Dear Suze Q. When the Baby Boomers and I grew up, we knew who the liars were. Either they were idiots and uneducated, or con men. The idiots you could educate and then we could work as a team, more or less. The conmen went straight to jail. It was a clean system that worked well enough towards the one goal of democracy. I’m terrified and pissed we’re losing our freedom and liberty.

Until the 1980s, there were only 3 major TV networks that pumped out news that was fact-checked, used multiple sources, and accurately covered both sides of an issue. Today, the internet news travels in seconds whether it’s factual or fake, in live-time or time-delayed. To know the truth, you need to know who owns, advertises, or influences your news. Determine if it’s slanted: (Truth Social is owned by Trump Media; Fox New’s chairman was Rupert Murdock, Trump supporter; Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post, another Trump supporter), or unbiased (Wall Street Journal; The Associated Press, banned by Trump; Forbes; The Daily Wire; NPR, federal funds eliminated by Trump). ✔️ your sources, trust but verify. -SQ
