Dear Suze Q. My 45-year old sister’s 2nd husband is a very “nice guy.” My brother and I alternate being happy for her and thinking the guy’s a putz. He doesn’t seem to have his own opinion but when he does, it’s as wishy-washy as a politician. Help!
Dear Helpless, Help with what? She likes him, he makes her happy, you’re happy that he makes her happy. Not your place to do or say anything. Bite your cheek, twist a rubber band, play with a fidget toy if your frustration gets too much. But dwelling on what’s not your problem is a recipe for alcoholism and other bad shit.
