Whose Problem Is This?

Dear Suze Q. I’ve always been a shy man, but I’m trying to be more outgoing. Recently, I’ve met a woman playing pickleball. We’ve had 4 dates and we’re compatible in most areas, -backgrounds, interests, values. Problem is she’s gotten increasingly critical of everything from the shirt I wear to the way I laugh, but denies she means it.

Dear Shy, Assume she means it. Otherwise, why say those hurtful things? It’s your problem if she’s right and you don’t do something until the next woman says the same thing and dumps you. It’s also your problem if you stick around for increased undeserved belittling and shaming. It’s her problem if your heart and soul are good, and then you should terminate this toxic relationship for someone worthy. -SQ
