Dear S.Q. I'm a 61 y.o. empty-nester. My recent date lives with adult sons that couldn't look up from their video game when I picked her up. When I left, my car had been egged and I'm sure it was her shithead 20+ y.o. sons, so I ghosted her. I wonder if I should have treated this differently.
Dear Wonderer, Ghosting her shows your anger by punishing her. If you want to shut down your relationship, regardless of the egging, be the gentleman I assume you are. Tell her you suspect that her sons egged your car and although you had a fun date, you're not interested in a relationship that includes her boys. Honesty will help her understand what went wrong and maybe, if you are right about her sons, she may do something about them. -SQ
