Dear Suze Q. I thought my guy was the man of my dreams and I was thrilled when he asked me to move in with him after only dating a few months. I've been slowly moving things in and discovered he's not Mr. Neat and Clean like he presented. His stuff is thrown everywhere in his apartment and he reclaims the spots I've taken for myself. He doesn't shower enough or wear clean clothes like when we dated. He apologizes when I point things out, then immediately does it again. I've never been a nag but it seems that's all I do (except cry in the shower and to my friends). I'm not liking myself much. Signed, One Foot In and One Foot Out the Door
Dear One, I think you recognize deep down that you don't like him, nor should you; it's a good call on your part. Now you need to reclaim liking yourself. You fell in love with the façade, and not the man he really is. It's true you can't judge a book by its cover, but now that you've read the whole novel, time to return it to the unwanted pile. -SQ
