Dear Suz, The last kid has moved out! It’s such a weird feeling to wake up with an empty house, or to see the guy in my bed that I’ve only dated a few months. I’m ambivalent about both but get a tingling that life might be on the upswing.
Dear Tingling, Welcome to the next stage of life. What are your wishes? Dabble or roam aimlessly? At some point, you’ll need to do a life reassessment. Note what you’ve accomplished and what’s still on your to-do-before-I-die list. Then, add whatever else piques your fancy. Understand your finances first, then budget your dreams accordingly. Tip: plan your dreams as if you’re single and all the cost is yours. If you win the lottery and miraculously become flush with $, then the sky’s the limit. -SQ
