Dear Suze Q. Last night we went to the Outlaw Concert at the Hollywood Bowl and used the restrooms before heading home. I commented that, as always, there was no line for the men’s. My husband corrected me that several women were queued inside the men’s room, common at concert events, awaiting the bathroom stalls. He said they didn’t look at the men urinating 10 steps away or say anything, just tried to be invisible. He said everyone treated it like no big deal. Is it?
Dear Music Fan, Your husband had boots on the ground, so to speak, so he knows more than the rest of us. If he says it was treated by everyone there as no big deal, then that’s the answer -the majority ruled by their actions that it was no big deal. Too bad all these newly re-erected Jim Crow bathroom laws in the US were passed by legislature rather than voted on by the people. -SQ
