Dear Suze, I’m a planner, organizer, basically a leader. I’ve dated a woman for years, more off than on. She was fun and spontaneous -up for anything and the sex was great. I knew we were opposites but we were great together for short bursts. I decided to vacation for a week to judge if we were compatible enough to live together. It was a disaster. She said I was boring and controlling. I thought she was whiny and hyperactive. Who are we and what do I do now?
Dear Who, Reactive people are great for quick decisions or that big bang of creativity. Proactive people are best at solving future problems that require research. Proactive brings preparedness and controlled, predictable outcomes, while too much reactivity leads to chaos and craziness. Go back to occasionally dating and great sex if you can, but forget living together unless you’re a masochist. -SQ
