Dear Readers, hot topic here -infidelity! On the rise is micro-cheating, slightly more with married women (under 30), than similar-aged men, and no longer the domain of men in a male-dominated American society. Early record keeping from 1890 shows that women married at 22, and men were a few years older. The USA’s women’s 2023 average was 32 years old. But with this older age before commitment, does not come wisdom. “Micro-cheating” includes behavior of secrecy and dishonesty from your loved one in a committed relationship, whether a written marital contract or oral bond. Let me list some of these on-the-surface innocent behaviors that can become fault-lines that destroy a couple.
Here are 5 behaviors to make you stop and think. They may not be the big earthquake, but they’ll rattle your foundation if they happen to you or your partner:
1) lying about your relationship status
2) hiding a relationship from your partner
3) telling someone you’d be into them if you weren’t married/committed
4) making a second social media profile just “to see” responses
