Dear, Can You See? Yup, I can see at least a dozen possible problems. Separation and divorce can be traumatic well into their adulthood if parenting is about your needs before their well-being. Timing is everything when introducing a date, even if you disguise it as "just a friend." So, -are your kids ready to see you with a "replacement mom?" Are they ready to give up their "dad only belongs to me" status to share you with someone else? Have you put yourself in their shoes and thought through every conceivable feeling they could have and arrive at the answer that "yes," a beach date is a good idea? After that "yes," did you talk to them, at length, to really "hear" how they feel? If again it's still a "yes," then pack plenty of snacks and have fun in the sun. -SQ
